July 12, 2008: Tate went to his first show of the season for 2008 today. Judge was Jos Severiens. Tate scored an 81.5% in his 2006 Colts/Geldings Class and went on to win the Colts Championship Class, which qualified him for the South Eastern Regional Finals!!!! Thank you Sterling Graburn for handling him so well today! Some of Jos' comments for the day were: For conformation (7.9) "Well developed 2 year old, good head/neck connection." For walk (8.2) "Good engagement from hind leg." For trot (8.4) "Shows good freedom in shoulder. Good reach and suspension." For general impression (8.0) Shows good dressage potential. Good disposition." Photos above are from that show. Tate will be leaving July 20, 2008 to go to Joe Pimentel's farm to begin to prepare for the stallion approvals in October of this year.
Tatendrang at the Southern Hospitality Show, Conyers, Georgia. September 2007, 3rd place both days, 77.0% first day, 81.3 % second day Dean Graham handler, photo credit, Alicia Frese Tatendrang, or "Tate" as he is known around the barn, is out of our Trakehner mare, Tanzania, and by the Trakehner stallion, Onassis. His name is German for "lust for life" and is named this because he was trying to stand before his hindquarters were out of his dam! This is a very special colt as he is not only a full brother to the approved Trakehner stallion, Tycoon, but he is also the last of the Onassis/Tanzania crosses as Onassis is retired from stud. He combines some of the best dressage bloodlines with the Consul and Magnet on his sire's side, and Avignon II (a full brother to the great stallion Arongo), Flaneur, and Ricardo on his dam's side. He shows not only spectacular gaits, but a very willing and kind disposition. At 21 months old he sticks at 16.0 1/2 hh, so he will follow in the footsteps of his 6 other full brothers and sisters and easily achieve 17 + hh. Tate was only shown once in December 2006, under "R" judge, Jan Gille, he scored a 74% (the second highest score of the day for all ages, sexes, and breeds!) and won his weanling class. He scored 8's on both his walk and his trot! Not bad for the first time off the farm and scared! In 2007 we began his actual "show career" by taking him to the Summer Sizzler II show at Canterbury Farm in Newberry, Florida. This was his first rated DSHB show. He scored a 75.8% under judge Carter Bass and placed 3rd out of a fairly large class for the yearling colts/geldings. In September 2007 , he went to the Southern Hospitality Show at Conyers, Georgia where he showed not only what a gentleman he is, but what a trooper he is! We battled the remnants of a hurricane to get to the show grounds (9 hours in the trailer) with sloppy, windy conditions on Saturday, and HIGH winds on Sunday. Tate handled himself like a pro both days and under 'r" judge, Jos Severiens, he scored a 77.0% and took 3rd place on Saturday. Sunday he scored 81.3% and took 3rd place again under judge General Burton. In November 2007, we made the long haul to Dallas, Texas for the American Trakehner Association Conference. He went into the mare/foal show on Thursday and won the Colts of 2007 class with a 78%, and was Reserve Champion for Colts/Geldings! He received a "9" on his walk from the German Judge at this show!!! Tate also ended the year at 5th in the NATION for Colts/Geldings 2007 with a median score of 77%. Due to paperwork and registration errors he was not eligible for All Breed awards for the Trakehners, but if he had been he would have been Grand Champion ATA Yearling Colt as well. Tate is lifetime registered with the USDF, USEF, and is registered with the American Trakehner Association. If Tate is not sold prior to the fall of 2008, we plan on presenting him as a stallion prospect to the American Trakehner Association. Tate is offered for sale. Please feel free to call or email Anissa Cottongim for more photos, a video, or more information!
